This 8ply yarn is the collaboration between Waratah Fibres and Fibre Arts Shed and is a totally Australian Product.
90% Australian Polwarth with 10 % Mohair spun woollen to DK weight with 250 metres per 100 gms. It is a colour changing yarn so no 2 skeins are totally alike. The added mohair give this yarn a halo and softness that is just so squishy and tactile. It will be great for baby and children as well as shawls and scarves. Please note that this yarn is not Superwash so will have to be Hand Washed at all times.
The original fibre is Polwarth from Fairview Polwarth in Victoria. It was then processed at Cashmere Connections also in Victoria.
The dyeing of the tops was done by Waratah Fibres in NSW along with some Mohair from Gill & Reg a local Mohair producer. It then was blended and spun into yarn by Fibre Arts Shed on the Central Coast of NSW. Though Waratah Fibres is not a member of Australian Fibre Collective, Fairview Polwarth are which makes this yarn authentically Australian.
